As the dry season was taking hold the available capacity of the Village of Vesulogo dam was being questioned. Village elders decided that the dam wall needed to be raised to increase storage capacity through the dry season. The elders asked Kokoda Memorial Foundation for assistance. As many of the volunteers of KMF had construction experience it took only one day for the preparation and pouring of the concrete to form the new additional.

The new raised dam is now able to store additional water for the dry season.
